The Wheelbarrow, located next to Greenbank Sports Academy, has unveiled a festive line-up to make the most fabulous time of the year even more enjoyable. 

The stunning, spacious venue has had a sparkling Christmas make-over and the team are looking forward to making their first Christmas extra special with a whole series of fun and festive events for everyone to enjoy. 

Operated by the owners of neighbouring Watering Can, The Wheelbarrow has become a firm favourite with students and local residents who welcome the beautiful addition to the local leisure scene. 

Natural Wreath Making and craft markets 

On Thursday 1st December The ‘Crafty Monkeys’ will be hosting a fantastic evening of natural wreath making with a bowl of hearty Scouse and a glass of fizz (vegan option provided). As well as creating their own wreath, guests will enjoy live music and be able to peruse a craft market where local independent sellers will be showcasing their creations.

Afternoon Tea

Festive Afternoon Tea 

On Friday 2nd and 23rd of December, what better way to catch up with family and friends, exchange gifts and spend quality time together than enjoying a beautifully festive Afternoon Tea. A selection of luxurious sandwiches, sultana scones, festive themed cakes, home-made sandwiches and hand made chocolates will be served with Prosecco and English breakfast tea for £28 per person. Booking is essential and spaces are filling fast. Please call: 0151 245 6494 to secure your festive treat!

QUINGO with Dame Fanny De Faux 

If you like Quizzing and Bingo, plenty of laughs and something a bit different, The Wheelbarrow are delighted to be welcoming Dame Fanny De Faux on Thursday 15th December for the sensational and hilariously funny ‘Quingo’. So, grab your friends, or colleagues, test your knowledge and have a great night out

Allerton Brass Band with Afternoon Tea 

It doesn’t get more festive than Allerton Brass Band and a Christmas inspired Afternoon Tea. The Wheelbarrow are delighted to be hosting two sittings for guests to enjoy all of the Christmas classic songs whilst enjoying an Afternoon Tea with prosecco for £35 per person on Saturday 17th December.  There will be a vegetarian and a meat option available; sittings are at 12.30pm and 2.30pm and the band will play from 1-4pm. Seats are limited and can be booking by calling: 0151 245 6494.

Owner Keith Perryman said: “We have tried to cater for everyone this Christmas. We have a vibrant student population and are based in a neighbourhood between Sefton Park and Greenbank Park. We feel that we have a festive line-up to please all of our customers and suit all budgets and we look forward to welcoming our customers to celebrate our first Christmas at The Wheelbarrow”. 

With the festive season fast approaching, the beautifully decorated venue with its versatile layout and parking on site is also filling the diary with a variety of private and corporate bookings. Some slots are still available if you wish to hire the venue for your own private festive celebrations. With capacity for up 150 people and a late licence option available, buffets are available from £15 per head and there is space for DJ and live music
