The Best Dads in Beauty: Rosie's Dad

YEAH, THERE’S A NEW GENERATION OF BEAUTY BLOGGERS IN TOWN AND THEY’RE WRITING GREAT CONTENT. NOT TO MENTION CREATING VIDEOS THAT MAKE DOING HARD STUFF WITH MAKE-UP LOOK EASY. BUT TODAY’S BLOG POST IS NOT ABOUT THEM. TODAY, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE UNSUNG HEROES OF BEAUTY. THE DADS…

Rose Gallagher (who writes the must-visit blog for beauty junkies: Mixed Gems) was the first to pique our interest in dads in beauty. A few weeks ago, Rose happened to mention that she’s managed to get her dad hooked on sharing her beauty regime.

We’ve since checked out the pictures on the Mixed Gems Instagram account showing Rose and her father enjoying some dad daughter pampering time together. We can’t fully explain why, but seeing Rose and her dad road testing the best face masks in the business together makes us happy. Very happy. Look out for the hashtag #MasksMyDadLoves and prepare to be reminded that the internet really is not all bad. Rose’s dad, we salute you and your services to beauty!

Next up, Megan, who vlogs under the name ‘Meggs and Bacon,’ attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers when she handed over control of the below make-up tutorial video to her dad. If you’re a beauty lover, you’ve probably already seen the result, but we reckon this one is well worth re-watching. Be prepared to see your favourite products and techniques in a whole new light!

We take our hat off to both Megan and her dad for having some fun with the usual make-up tutorial video, for not taking themselves too seriously, and for making us chuckle.

And finally, this story’s been around for a while, but is still making us smile. When single dad Greg Wickherst found himself struggling to style his daughter’s hair, he did the only logical thing and signed up for beauty school. Greg is now a hair maestro and regularly post pictures of his daughter’s increasingly intricate up-dos on social media. Well played, sir.

Cheers to these top dads for keeping the world of beauty fresh, fun, irreverent, and occasionally just a little bit silly – just the way we like it! Yes, we love fashion and beauty at His & Hers, but we think these dads prove that when it comes to looking and feeling great, a playful approach can get you a lot further than being deadly serious about it all. Looking good, guys, looking good!
