new bars for Berry Street

HIS & HERS LOVES BERRY STREET FOR AFTER WORK DRINKS, SO WE’RE PLEASED TO HEAR THAT WE’LL BE GETTING TWO NEW BARS ON THE STREET WHERE YOU’LL FIND SOME OF THE CITY’S MOST TALENTED BAR STAFF (& SOME OF LIVERPOOL’S BEST COCKTAILS).

It’s all change over on Berry Street in Liverpool city centre, which is home to some of our best bars. After three years of the American themed Rack & Dollar the owners have re-branded the site and recently launched Berry St Bar + Kitchen. This week this will be joined by Elixir private cocktail lounge.

About Liverpool’s two new bars:

In replacing the former American themed venue, Berry Street Bar + Kitchen and Elixir now offer a more relaxed setting. The venue is now more of a gastro pub that plays live sport and live music too. While Elixir is a tranquil cocktail retreat in the heart of the city.

The new menu includes a mixture of bistro and grill dishes. A spokesperson for the venues said “Our aim is to offer a relaxed dining experience where our guests can also watch live sporting events. With a range of nibbles & small plates which are perfect for sharing (or pigging out alone).

“Our main courses are traditional but polished takes on British pub classics. We also have an extensive grill section, where all of our meat is locally sourced, highlights of which are Pork Tomahawk and T-bone steak. We would also like to give a special mention to the local drinks supplier Hops & Barley who have helped us achieve our niche product range working tirelessly with our team.”

Both local and foreign beers adorn the bar. The wine list showcases a varied range of styles from different countries which were hand selected to be the best value for your money. There is an extensive selection of American Whisky’s that perch on the top shelf. The sign reads ‘Heaven Hill American Whisky Embassy’, a prize given to the best bar in the UK that encompassed the range, knowledge and passion for American Whisky. So you know you are in good hands.

One of the best things about the menu at Berry Street Bar + Kitchen is that all of the meat is locally sourced from a butcher in Hoylake. Something the owners are proud of.

New private cocktail lounge, Elixir, which is positioned to the back right of the venue will be the second venue to open, with Friday 1st December being the official opening date. The lounge will have a cocktail menu designed on the history and search for the elixir of eternal life and apothecary will be a theme throughout. Art from local artist Cyclone Ape hangs on the walls while the space has a very Soho London feel to it. The bar is open to the public and can also be booked for private parties – holding upto 150 guests.
