THE WONGS WINTER BALL: STARS RAISED AN IMPRESSIVE £44,000 FOR ALDER HEY AT A NIGHT OF FINE DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT.

The Wongs Winter Ball:

Models Amanda Harrington and Jade Ainsworth joined Hollyoaks actor David Kennedy, Olympian Beth Tweddle, Radio City’s Simon Ross and Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh were special guests at the bash.

The cash was raised at the event, sponsored by luxury brand Carat London, who sponsor the BAFTAs, at the glamourous ball at The Venue, at the Royal Liver Building.

Wongs Jewellers have been designing and creating bespoke jewellery in Liverpool for more than 50 years.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity was chosen by Wongs because of the incredible care they give to the millions of families and children who have been cared for at the Liverpool hospital.

Peter Wong, the Managing Director of Wongs Jewellers, said: “The second annual ball has been an incredible success and we have once again raised an amazing amount of money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

“The service the charity and the hospital provide is much needed and it’s heart-breaking but also uplifting to hear some of the stories about what they do.

“On behalf of Wongs, I would like to thank everybody who came to The Venue for the ball and donated to the charity. We are planning a huge third event for 2018 and already looking forward to next Christmas.”

Clare White, Chief Executive of Alder Hey Children’s Charity, said: “For the second year running Wongs Jewellers have organised the most spectacular event to support Alder Hey.

“The team worked tirelessly during the evening to fundraise as well as ensuring the guests had a fantastic time.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support from the team and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the event such a success.

“The money raised will support the development of our new research facility at Alder Hey, helping us to continue to make advancements in children’s healthcare for future generations, so the support from Wongs Jewellers is invaluable.”

The Venue is nestled on the first floor of the iconic Royal Liver Building, one of the Three Graces, and is one of the most popular places for weddings, private parties and Christmas party nights over the festive period.

Karen Yates, Head of Sales and Events at The Venue, said: “The Wongs Winter Ball is one of our favourite events and we love seeing so much glamour and kindness in one place.

“It’s so heart-warming to see how much money is being raised and this is what our city is all about – good times and good causes.”
