Suites Hotel & Spa is following its record year of success at last year’s MIB Awards by announcing its official sponsorship of a brand-new category at this year’s celebrations – Employee of the Year.

Headed by Morecrofts Solicitors, the MIB (Merseyside Independent Business) Awards aim to highlight and recognise the region’s hardest-working businesses, with Suites Hotel & Spa picking up a total of three awards at last year’s event including ‘Employer of the Year’, ‘Best Place to Stay’ and the notable ‘Independent Business of the Year’.

Located in the heart of Knowsley, the recently-refurbished Suites Hotel & Spa is a family-run business that is home to 76 suites, in-house eateries, the Spa @ Suites and conferencing and function rooms to name but a few.

Managing Director of Suites Hotel & Spa Lyndsay Stanistreet-Tyer said: “It’s a real honour for us to be sponsoring a category at this year’s MIB Awards. At last year’s ceremony, the hotel achieved fantastic results and being able to add the trio of trophies to our cabinet has certainly positively impacted our business so we’re looking forward to playing a part in supporting other companies and individuals taking the same journey in 2019.

“Our chosen category couldn’t be more apt. We were named ‘Employer of the Year’ last year as a result of our ongoing commitment to creating a positive and productive working environment for all of our employees. We’re passionate about driving local employment and have recently worked with the community to welcome four new apprentices to the team and are also celebrating this month’s promotion of our Assistant Spa Manager, Amy Buchanan, who first joined us as an apprentice over four years ago.”

Suites Hotel & Spa has also recently been awarded its Level 2 Disability Confidence Award, which recognises the venue’s commitment to attracting, supporting and retaining staff with a recognised disability. As part of the scheme’s success, a team member undertaking a 12-month apprenticeship has progressed to become a full-time member of staff.

Lyndsay added: “As big advocates of recognising and rewarding diligent and committed staff, we think the introduction of this category perfectly fits with our ethos and we’re looking forward to celebrating 2019’s ‘Employee of the Year’ on October 10.”

Managing Partner at Morecrofts Solicitors Alison Lobb added: “It’s so wonderful to have a previous multiple MIB Award winner and our current ‘Independent Business of the Year’ on board as sponsors for our upcoming 2019 event. The team behind Suites Hotel & Spa certainly embody what it means to be a good employer, as recognised during last year’s ceremony, and who better to sponsor and support the introduction of our new category, ‘Employee of the Year’?”
