Christmas came early to Wirral as one of His & Hers Magazine’s favourite independent brands, luxury perfumers Owen Drew, hosted a festive lunch at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa on Friday 22nd November.
The glamorous guests were treated to a drinks reception by local artisan gin brand, Wirral Gin, before sitting down to a sumptuous four-course Christmas dinner. This is the fourth sold out event which Owen Drew has hosted in 2019. Founder of the company, Drew Cockton, told us: “These events are an opportunity for us to thank and spoil our guests – made up of brand supporters, customers, and retail partners and we make sure everybody has a good time!”
While guests enjoyed a turkey dinner with all of the trimmings, singer Janie James wooed the 180+ plus well-heeled guests in attendance with a live swing / cabaret performance after which upcoming fashion brand, “Molby the Label”, designed by Karina Molby, showcased her latest designs.
But it was the surprise entertainment – a Cilla Black impersonator – which really brought the house down. Victoria Jones belted out hits from the 60’s siren, including “You’re My World” and “Anyone Who Had a Heart”, running around the hotel’s Torrintone Suite to make sure guests were up and dancing.
An impressive £1600 was raised for two charitable causes – Men Too (a male mental health charity), and The Children’s Air Ambulance – taking the total the Wirral brand has raised this year from its events to over £17,000. “It’s so important to give back”, Mike Skeggs of Owen Drew told His & Hers. “We have been very fortunate and blessed with the support of our customers and followers, so it feels good to return the karma”.
Building on their success of the past year, fragrance brand has big plans for 2020, including the release of a premium collection of candles, designed in collaboration with upcoming British print designer Ryan James, which are set to retail at £250+ and a capsule collection of perfumes and aftershaves in engraved crystal bottles. Despite its humble beginnings in the kitchen of Drew’s Wallasey home, the firm has devoted fans across the globe and made headlines in a host of prestigious publications, including Forbes and Vogue.
